India-Pakistan: Pakistan said on Thursday (December 29) that it wants good relations with India, but New Delhi should show seriousness to resolve the pending issues including Kashmir through dialogue.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said during the weekly press conference that Pakistan will continue its policy of peace with neighbors on the basis of mutual respect and sovereign equality with all countries of South Asia. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “Pakistan is interested in peace and dialogue and it is up to the Indian authorities to take a responsible approach towards improving the relationship.”
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “Pakistan believes that bilateral relations cannot be fully normalized until the outstanding disputes are resolved, especially the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He said that Islamabad will continue to try to resolve the Kashmir dispute under the UN resolution. It is notable that Pakistan-India relations are tense over the Kashmir issue and cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. Relations between the two countries came to an all-time low when India on August 5, 2019, abolished Article-370, a provision of the Indian Constitution giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
